Millions More Spent On Heating

The cold front was a terrible time for many people in the UK this month and last and caused problems for ill people and elderly as well as people that just hate the cold weather! However we battled through it as a country and although I think we could have handled it a bit better bit we did it. On whole as a country we have spent over £1.2 billion over a very short period of time, two weeks in fact, much more than a normal winter.

At Work

The timing of all of this was not great because many offices were already cold thanks to the Christmas break and no one being in them. The heating was wacked up in the offices because it was so cold within them. Also many shops had no choice but to crank the heating up to the highest it could be to make sure they were not receiving complaints from their customers. On top of this many stores were getting in things like convector heater and a fan heater to keep the staff warm.

At Home

So many people were already freezing and once the cold front came in they has just reached the end of it and had enough so they decided to just turn up the heating. Part of the reason if not the entire reason for all of this is because ofthe snow, people were in their homes instead of at work or school.

Problems

Well there aren’t really any immediate problems for the bigger people involved like the government as all they need to do is get a bit more gas in but for the general population the heating bills will be pretty steep this month so make sure you save a bit of extra money for this. Of course you could just get portable heaters for occasions such as this.
